NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Saints havent worked out a long-term contract with Drew Brees yet. But they did lock up one of their most critical offensive players Thursday, agreeing to a multiyear extension with center Max Unger, a source confirmed to ESPN.The deal is worth more than $7 million per year, according to NOLA.com, which was first to report the extension.Unger, like Brees, was scheduled to become a free agent at the end of the season.The deal was probably in the works regardless, but the Saints needed to free up some salary-cap space after signing free agent Paul Kruger earlier this week.Unger, 30, has been a terrific addition since coming to New Orleans last year in the Jimmy Graham trade with the Seattle Seahawks.
