The Cincinnati Bengals host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday in what could amount to an elimination game in the AFC wild-card race. The Bills (4-5) and the Bengals (3-5-1) are currently 11th and 13th in the conference standings. With one more loss, Cincinnati wont be able to finish with 10 wins. If Buffalo loses on Sunday, it would have to run the table to finish with 10 victories.Generally, 10 gets you in (the playoffs), Bills coach Rex Ryan said. Its not all the time, but generally thats what happens.Buffalo hasnt won 10 games since 1999, and hasnt had a winning record after 10 contests since 2000. Coming out of the bye week, the Bills are searching for consistency after losing three straight following a four-game winning streak. Our focus has to be on Cincinnati and thats it, Ryan said. You cant worry about getting to 10 wins. Shoot, we have to worry about getting five wins, so I think thats where we have to look at it. We havent earned the right to think about anything further than that.At this point a year ago, the Bengals were 8-1 on their way to an AFC North championship. Cincinnatis impressive mark included a 34-21 win in Buffalo. You dont get qualifiers for that, though, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said. You dont get to play from the green tees because of the past. We have to play back from the championship tees and move forward.Pro Bowl left tackle Andrew Whitworth doesnt believe the Bengals losing record reflects their ability to win games going forward.I could go back over the last five or six years and as good as people think we have been, there have been a lot of games that we eked out at the end. Another team made a mistake and we got a lucky break that went our way, thats NFL football, Whitworth said, according to the team website. With this team though, the character we have, we can keep our heads down and keep working and turn this thing around. The Bengals are banged up and on short rest coming off Monday nights 21-20 loss to the New York Giants.Cincinnati is playing at Paul Brown Stadium for the first time in four weeks and hasnt won a game since then, despite being outscored by just one point in the last two contests -- including a 27-27 tie with the Redskins on Oct. 30.Our margin for error right now is not very big, Lewis said.A victory could go a long way for the Bengals. They are only 1.5 games back of the Ravens in the AFC North standings, but play four of their final six games against division foes -- including two matchups with Baltimore.Theres still so much to be determined in these last seven games, quarterback Andy Dalton said. We havent lost confidence in ourselves because weve been close in these games. The Bills were hoping to get healthy during the bye week but still have holes to fill in the lineup. They could have as many as five new starters on Sunday. Most of the changes will come on defense. Buffalo signed veteran safety James Ihedigbo this week with Aaron Williams (neck) likely out for the season and backups Duke Williams (who was cut) and Robert Blanton playing poorly.Cornerback Ronald Darby was benched in favor of Corey White in a loss to Seattle last week and could lose his starting job permanently.Pro Bowl defensive tackle Marcell Dareus (groin) is still limited in practice and is questionable. Dareus primary backup, Corbin Bryant (shoulder) is out for the second straight game. Linebacker Jerry Hughes (hand/questionable) was also limited in practice this week.On offense, either Patrick Lewis or Ryan Groy will be the new starting center after Eric Wood (broken leg) was placed on injured reserve.I think the most important player on our offense is Eric Wood, Bills running back LeSean McCoy said. We put a lot of pressure on him to make the right calls and put us in the right protection and right schemes. As a whole, we have to do a better job of that and of knowing ourselves, instead of letting him tell us what to do.Seantrel Henderson could also replace Jordan Mills at right tackle.Henderson has missed the first nine games due to suspension for violating the NFLs substance-abuse policy and his recovery from Crohns disease. "Its embarrassing to be at home and play the way we did," said defenceman Josh Gorges. Yeezy Boost 350 Scontate .Y. -- The Buffalo Sabres have recalled forward Kevin Porter and defenceman Chad Ruhwedel from the minors as part of a five-player roster shuffle made by the NHLs worst team. http://www.outletscarpesaldi.it/ . CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has shown no symptoms of a concussion in the aftermath of Thursdays opener against Denver that would prevent him from playing in Sundays home opener against San Francisco. The only thing Ill say is hes sore in terms of playing-the-game sore, coach Ron Rivera said Monday of Newton, who took four helmet-to-helmet hits in the 21-20 loss to the defending Super Bowl champions. Not anything else sore.Hes tough, hes resilient. Hes moving around pretty good today. But at least one of Newtons teammates remains upset that the officials called only one penalty against Denver for helmet-to-helmet hits. That came on Carolinas final drive and was negated by an intentional grounding penalty on the NFL MVP.Hes treated like a running back -- and hes not, Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen?said of Newton. Hes a quarterback that happens to be big. And fast. And strong.Olsen and Rivera agreed that Newton doesnt get the benefit of such calls because at 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds, hes bigger than most quarterbacks and carries the ball a lot in the read-option offense.Newton rushed 11 times against Denver.Thats what drives me nuts, Olsen said. They say, Oh, but he runs the ball so much. Every single one of those times he was playing quarterback. I dont give a s--- if he ran the ball 10 plays in a row as a running back. When he is a passer, he is a passer. Period.Im not saying Cam should get different rules than anybody else. Just call the rules for every single person that is a quarterback. Period.Rivera agreed. The hard part is the hits that a lot of people are concerned [about] was when he was a passer, he said. It came about because he was a passeer, and as long as hes behind the line of scrimmage hes afforded quarterback protection.ddddddddddddOlsen and Rivera each noted plays in Sundays games in which the defense was flagged for a helmet-to-helmet hit that was far less violent than some of those Newton took.Olsen mentioned specifically a roughing-the-passer penalty called against the Bengals in which the defenders hand brushed the helmet of Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Its almost insulting, Olsen said. Its insulting.Rivera wondered whether the officiating became stricter because of what happened to Newton. There were a couple that I watched that I thought, Hmmm. OK, Rivera said.Rivera sent several of the helmet-to-helmet hits to Newton that werent penalized to the league office. He hasnt gotten a response yet.Rivera doesnt know when the NFL or NFL Players Association will conclude its investigation into whether the team and league responded appropriately under the concussion protocol by not taking Newton out of the game to evaluate him.He hopes a ruling is made by Wednesday so we can start focusing on San Francisco. The Panthers could be subject to fines or even the loss of draft picks if it is determined they didnt respond appropriately.Rivera defended his staff, reminding that Pro Bowl middle linebacker Luke Kuechly was taken from the game late in the first half of last years opener and missed the next three games with a concussion. Our guys are very aware, and they understand the rules, the protocol, Rivera said. Its just unfortunate some people dont understand what the protocol is. ' ' '
