With NFL training camps underway, the league is abuzz with position battles, injury news and rookies making an immediate impact. Each day, TSN.ca provides the latest rumours, reports and speculation from around the NFL beat. Staying on the Bench After being officially listed as Geno Smiths backup on the New York Jets depth chart, ESPN New Yorks Rich Cimini doesnt believe Michael Vick will be used as a change-of-pace quarterback this season. The Jets are familiar with that approach, after using Tim Tebow in set plays in 2012. Cimini "got the impression" that head coach Rex Ryan would "rather mow the grass fields at SUNY-Cortland than try another Tim Tebow situation." Vick is expected to serve solely as Smiths backup, a role he has openly accepted. All Part of the Plan? Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine said Johnny Manziel practicing with the first-team offence on Monday was simply part of the plan by the coaching staff. "We said we were going to allow the quarterbacks to compete," Pettine told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "At some point youve got to mix up the supporting cast a little bit." Pettine did however say that he was not 100 per cent sure who would start Saturdays preseason game. Manziel outdueled Hoyer in the teams scrimmage, however Hoyer was listed as the starter on the Browns first depth chart, released Tuesday. Hoyer opened Tuesdays practice with the Browns first-team offence. Steeling a Spot Second-year wide receiver Markus Wheaton is listed as the starter across from Antonio Brown on the Pittsburgh Steelers first official depth chart. The Steelers lost wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to the Denver Broncos in free agency, as well as Jerricho Cotchery to the Carolina Panthers and signed only pass catcher Lance Moore as a replacement. Wheaton played in 12 games – starting one – in 2013, he caught six passes for 64 yards and no touchdowns. Moore was listed as Wheatons backup, but figures to lineup in the slot in three-wide receiver packages. On the defensive side, first-round pick Ryan Shazier was listed as the starter at left inside linebacker on the initial depth chart. Shazier was selected 15th overall in Mays draft out of Ohio State University. On the Ball ESPNs Chris Mortensen reported on Monday that despite undergoing an appendectomy, Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball has not been ruled out of the entire preseason. It was initially reported that Ball would be held out of game action until the Broncos regular season opener, with the average recovery time hovering around one month. Ball is slated to be the Broncos feature back this season, with Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson battling in camp for backup duties. Corey Dillon Jersey . The Toronto Blue Jays star won his second consecutive Hank Aaron Award as the most outstanding offensive performer in the AL on Monday after votes by fans and a panel of Hall of Famers were tallied. Steve Nelson Jersey . And Richard Bachman, their rookie goalie, is facing a penalty shot a few seconds after the opening face-off. No pressure, right? Bachman stood his ground against Zack Kassian and saw the puck dribble off the Canuck rookies stick, then settled in and backstopped the Stars to a 5-2 win over Vancouver Tuesday that put Dallas in first place in the Pacific Division. https://www.patriotsjerseysale.com/1151p...y-patriots.html.
