(Sports Network) - The Toronto Blue Jays continue their road trip with a three-game set against the Boston Red Sox starting tonight at Fenway Park. The Blue Jays had a season-best three-game win streak earlier this week, but then lost back-to-back games at Tampa Bay to settle for a four-game split in that series. They lost in extra innings on Thursday, 5-4, as reliever Brad Lincoln walked the only two batters he faced. One of those walks forced in the game-winning run with bases loaded and two outs in the 10th inning, as Lincoln misfired on four consecutive pitches to Luke Scott after getting ahead in the count, 0-2. "You shouldnt lose games like that," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said. "Youve got to throw strikes. Its pretty simple. Its not always the easiest thing to do, but you need to throw strikes. Get beat, let em hit their way to victory." It was a matchup between 2012 Cy Young winners, although neither pitcher factored into the decision. Torontos R.A. Dickey left after six innings with a one-run lead, while Rays starter David Price lasted eight innings and struck out eight. Right-hander Ramon Ortiz was called up from Triple-A Buffalo and will get the start for the Blue Jays, who sent struggling lefty Ricky Romero back down to the minors. Ortiz made one appearance with the big league club against the White Sox on April 17 after starter J.A. Happ gave up five runs. Ortiz pitched 3 1/3 innings in that game and gave up two runs on five hits. Boston will turn to unbeaten Jon Lester, who has already faced Toronto twice this season. The lefty allowed three runs on five hits in six innings of work against the Rangers on Sunday, striking out seven. Lester has fanned at least five batters in each of his starts. Despite losing three straight at home to the Twins this week, Boston is in a three-way logjam with New York and Baltimore atop the AL East standings. The Red Sox have dropped six of seven overall. "I dont think anybodys worried about the last seven games," said second baseman Dustin Pedroia. "Were just coming out playing that day hard and trying to win. Its the big leagues. Everybodys good. Were going to have to try to find a way to get that big hit or come up in a big situation and find a way to get it done. Well do that." In Thursdays 5-3 setback to Minnesota, starter John Lackey committed a costly error in the sixth inning and then gave up a two-run homer. After starting strong, Lackey went on to give up five runs (one earned) to go along with eight strikeouts for his third loss. Boston took two of three against Toronto in each of the two prior series between these teams this season. David Justice Jersey Large . LONDON -- Hobbling out of White Hart Lane on crutches and wearing a protective boot, Harry Kane provided a worrying sight for Tottenham after the 100th start for his boyhood club. The striker, last seasons most lethal scorer in the Premier League, is facing a spell on the sidelines just when his campaign was getting going after a frustrating few months.A side-footed strike against Sunderland on Sunday, to secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the struggling north-east team, followed a similar tap-in in the previous weekends 4-0 rout of Stoke. For the first time in six months Kane had scored in consecutive Premier League games, putting a miserable, goalless European Championship with England behind him.But now Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is anxiously awaiting the results of assessment of Kanes right ankle after he was carried off on a stretcher toward the end of Sundays game in north London.Pochettino is hoping the scans show a ligament injury rather than a fracture. It was tough. He twisted the ankle, Pochettino said. Now he feels pain in his ankle and we will see tomorrow ... its difficult without Harry but thats the reason we signed Vincent (Janssen). Thanks to the 23-year-old Kane, in his third season as a key member of Tottenhams team, the north London club has its third win of the season.ddddddddddddTottenham was struggling to break down Sunderland until the easiest of finishes from Kane in the 59th minute.Kyle Walkers cross was headed down by Dele Alli and Sunderland defender Papy Djilobodji missed the clearance completely, allowing Kane to seize his chance.Tottenham shouldnt have been so reliant on Kanes contribution, having bombarded the Sunderland goal with 31 shots with little joy. But unlike in Wednesdays loss to Monaco in their Champions League group-stage opener, Spurs found a way to collect all three points. We felt comfortable and felt like we needed to keep being patient and moving the ball quicker and knew the chance would come, Alli said.Tottenham is only four points off the pace at the top, having won three and drawn two so far.Sunderland finished the game with 10 men after Adnan Januzaj received a second yellow card in the 90th minute for a foul on Ben Davies. It compounded a miserable start to the season for new manager David Moyes who has collected only one point from five games. We were in the game but we also have to be truthful -- it was tough, Moyes said. We were hanging in there. ' ' '
