COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Montreal Canadiens were the last team in the NHL to lose a game in regulation this season -- and they did it in historic fashion Friday night. And the Columbus Blue Jackets made a little history of their own.Cam Atkinson, Nick Foligno, Scott Hartnell and Josh Anderson each scored two goals as Columbus swamped Montreal 10-0, matching the biggest loss in the Canadiens storied history and breaking the Blue Jackets franchise record.Montreal lost by 10 goals for the fifth time and the first since an 11-1 loss to Detroit in February 1995. The Canadiens dropped to 9-1-1.I dont think youre going forget one like that, Montreal wing Brendan Gallagher said. We got taught a lesson here tonight. We had it coming. Last game we were sloppy, we got away with it. Tonight we didnt.Sergei Bobrovsky made 30 saves, and Seth Jones and David Savard added goals to help the Blue Jackets improve to 5-3-1. Columbus eclipsed its previous record offensive output of eight goals in a game. After surrendering 13 goals in 10 games before Friday, Montreal gave up eight to Columbus in the first two periods, half of them on power plays. Sixteen Columbus players picked up at least one point.Theres nothing positive about tonight -- nothing, Montreal coach Michel Therrien said. The Blue Jackets banged away at Al Montoya, Montreals backup goalie who started in place of Carey Price in the first game of a back-to-back set. On a power play with 9:04 left in the first, Foligno tapped it out from behind the net to Atkinson, who picked up his third goal of the season and later would get his fourth.Jones found the net just 58 seconds later from the left circle on a pass out from behind the goal line from Anderson to make it 2-0.Savard scored for Columbus again with 5:54 left in the first -- with a bit of luck. Savard was shooting inside to Matt Calvert, but the puck hit the skate of Montreals Jeff Petry and trickled through the legs of Montoya. The goal was Savards first of the season, and Markus Nutivaara got an assist -- his first NHL point.Atkinson scored his second goal of the night 4:01 into the second period on a put-back after Sam Gagners shot bounced off Montoyas pads.Foligno netted Columbus fifth off a pass from Zach Werenski 10:12 into the period, and Hartnell tapped in a loose puck from in front of the net a minute and 41 seconds later for the sixth score. Foligno scored the seventh in traffic a minute and 46 seconds after that.Anderson scored the eighth from the slot just before the end of the second period. Hartnell and Anderson added the last two in the third period.Youve been on the other side where everything is not going right, Foligno said. It just seemed to be the case tonight where we were just getting every bounce. But we were earning it, too. Im not going to take away from our game, either. We did a lot of good things. But Ive never been up by 10 in my entire career.Montoya had 30 saves for Montreal. The record output was no big deal to Columbus coach John Tortorella. All it is one tick in the win column and one tick in the loss column, he said.Game notes Columbus Alexander Wennberg appeared to score off his skate in the second period, but the goal was disallowed because officials ruled he deliberately kicked it. ... The Blue Jackets killed a Montreal power play near the end of the period after Bobrovsky was called for tripping Montreals Andrew Shaw. Cheap Hydro Flask Water Bottle . -- Matt Ryan needed one of the best games of his career to lead the Falcons and their depleted offence out of their three-game losing streak last week. ANAHEIM, Calif. -- All four principals in one of the most significant trades in both teams history likely will take the ice in the same game for the first time when the Anaheim Ducks meet the Ottawa Senators on Sunday at the Honda Center.Senators winger Bobby Ryan returns to the city where he began his NHL career to face fellow wingers Jakob Silfverberg, Nick Ritchie and Stefan Noesen, now property of the Ducks.Ryan was Anaheims first selection and the second overall in the 2005 NHL draft. The native of Cherry Hill, N.J., joined the Ducks in 2007 and scored at least 30 goals in four consecutive seasons between 2008 and 2012. But managing the salary cap meant trading Ryan in July 2013 for Silfverberg, Noesen and Ottawas first draft choice in the 2014 draft, the 10th overall selection, which Anaheim used on Ritchie.Since arriving in Canadas capital, Ryan has yet to have the kind of offensive success he enjoyed playing on the same line as center Ryan Getzlaf and right winger Corey Perry. Now 29, Ryan accumulated as many as 23 goals for the Senators in 2013-14 and 56 points last season. Both totals fall short of his highs with the Ducks. This season, Ryan has only three goals and eight points after 23 games. He sustained a bone bruise on one of his fingers Nov. 17 against the Nashville Predators. He missed five of the ensuing nine games and before returning to the lineup Wednesday night in San Jose.Senators General Manager Pierre Dorion considered making a trade if Ryan were unavailable for an extended period. It does take presssure off, because when Bobby first got hurt, we didnt know the extent of it, Dorion told the Ottawa Citizen.dddddddddddd For awhile there, we thought it could be long-term. I made a few calls, but were very happy with our depth and the guys weve called up have done a good job, whether its up front or on defense. Im still making calls, but with Bobby back, there might not be as much need immediately.Meanwhile, Silfverberg found a home on the right side of the Ducks most consistent line, which includes center Ryan Kesler and left winger Andrew Cogliano. Silfverberg owns a reputation as a solid two-way forward as the 26-year-old Swede ranks third on the team with eight goals and leads Anaheim with a plus-9 rating.Ritchie, who turned 21 on Monday, is on pace to finish with 18 goals as a left winger after being shuttled between the Ducks and their AHL affiliate in San Diego last season. Ritchie has played with Getzlaf and Perry on the first line and on the third line as a physical presence with skill.Noesen, promoted from San Diego on Wednesday, made his season debut that night against the Carolina Hurricanes and scored his first NHL goal in his third career appearance. In San Diego the previous night, Noesen scored the tying goal with 9.3 seconds left in regulation, as the Gulls earned a 4-3 overtime victory against Bakersfield. Its definitely surreal, Noesen said of the timing. Im happy to be here. ' ' '
